A little bit about FbFirst Student Ministry 

Our Vision at FbFirst Student Ministry is to make disciples by leading students to know, trust, and live a transformed life in Jesus Christ. We do this by extending the Gospel call through Gospel-centered preaching, life-on-life discipleship, and living missionally


We are a Faith Family. No family is perfect, but as we pursue Christ individually and corporately, our hearts are that students live out a rhythm of accountability, support, service, generosity, and worship that is centered in who Jesus is and what He has done for us.


Sunday Youth Classes

Time: 9:00 am - 10:15 am

Middle-School Girls (Grade 6th-8th): Room B219
Middle-School Boys ( Grade 6th-8th): Room B213
High-School Ladies ( Grades 9th-12th: Room 2018
High-School Young Men ( Grades 9th-12th): Room B214

Wednesday Youth Group

Time: 6:00 pm- 7:30 pm


Students in 6th-12th Grade meet in the B-Building (known as B-Wing), Upstairs in what is called the Youth Lounge. We have a time of Games, Worship, and The Word!

FbFirst Student Ministry Staff


Pastor Gabriel( Gabe) Zavala

Pastor Gabe Zavala is blessed to lead our Student Ministry. He has been in Ministry for over a decade, obtaining degrees in Veterinary Technology, Ministry Studies, and a Master's in Theology with a Church Planting Emphasis. His heart is to see students and their families be transformed by the beautiful truth of the Gospel.

Student Ministry Resident Caleb Goltz

Caleb has been voted as the number one intern in the Northeast Florida Region ( subjectively speaking)! He graduated with a finance degree from UNF in the spring of 2024 while feeling a call to ministry during his senior year of college. He answered the calling and started interning in the youth ministry at FbFirst right after graduating, quickly into a residency Role. He has ministry experience, having previously led the UNF BCM Worship team, served as Worship Director at a Church Plant, and led Kids and Youth Camps. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Liberty Theological, with expected graduation in fall 2026. His heart is to see students grow in their love for Jesus, taking next steps of faith in their spiritual journey, and sharing the Gospel with their classmates.
